Notice Inviting Applications from eligible candidates for appointment of Assistant Coaches on contract basis

Sports Authority of India invites applications in the prescribed format from eligible candidates for appointment on contract basis as Assistant Coach for an initial period of four years (subject to yearly performance evaluation) as detailed below: -

* The total vacancy are 220, out of 220 vacancies 90(Unreserved), 33 (Scheduled Caste), 59 (Other Backward Classes), 22 (Economically Weaker Section) and 16 (Scheduled Tribes).

*      Number of vacancies is indicative and SAI is at liberty to appoint Coaches based on workload.

*      All the coaches presently working with SAI on contract basis shall apply afresh.

*    These vacancies are not for TOPS NCOE. The same, if any, will be published separately. A Coach intent to work exclusively in TOPS NCOE need not apply.

3.      Eligibility for Assistant Coaches to be recruited under Contract

Ø  Total consolidated remuneration to be fixed after taking into account experience, certification and Dronacharya Award. Remuneration will be fixed after adding the number of increments accordingly.

Ø  In case a person has eligibility because of two criteria then, criteria advantageous to him will be applicable or as opted by the candidate.

Ø  Appointment committee may recommend higher salary with specific recommendations in case of coaches having higher qualifications/ exceptional achievements.

 

5.      Selection procedure:

(i)                     Through interview including oral test for discipline specific knowledge. In case, number of candidates are more than five times of the vacancies, short-listing of candidates for interview shall be carried out on the basis of approved criteria (Annexure-I). Hence, mere fulfillment of eligibility criteria does not entail the candidate to be called for the interview.

(ii)                   The list of eligible shortlisted candidates for interview along with date(s) and place of interview will be informed individually or posted on SAI website.

(iii)                 The Candidates should note that their candidature at all the stages shall be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any stage before or after Interview, it is found that they do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions; their candidature shall be cancelled by the SAI.

6.      The term International Participation, as mentioned at S. No. 3, means having represented the country in the International competition at Senior Level in Sports discipline recognized by World Body of the respective Sports such as :

i)            Olympic Games

ii)            World Championships/ World Cups

iii)            Asian Games

iv)            Commonwealth Games

v)            Asian Championships/ Asia Cups

The above definition will be considered as a standard/ benchmark while working out the eligibility of all the applicants those have applied under the category of International Participation.

7.      A panel of Assistant Coaches on contract shall be drawn and that will be valid for a period upto one year. The services of coaches kept in the waiting list may be utilized by Khelo India or any other scheme of SAI/ Centre/ State Government, if required.

8.      The engagement of Assistant Coaches on contract basis shall not confer on them any right for absorption or appointment on regular basis in SAI.

9.      The Sportspersons (Ex-International Athletes) inducted under contract as Assistant Coach will be required to devote full time to coaching and hence, it is advisable that only those sportspersons, who can devote full time for coaching should apply. They may have to undergo various short term/ medium term training/ orientation programme.

 

10.  How to Apply: Through online Application Form available on SAI website https://sportsauthorityofindia.nic.in/saijobs Applications received through any other mode shall not be accepted and summarily rejected.

 

LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: The schedule for applying online is given below:-

i.  Date of opening of online registration – 27.08.2021 from 11:00 AM

 

ii.  Closing date for submission of online application – 10.10.2021 till 05:00 PM

 

 

11.  All relevant certificates shall be mentioned in the online application form and uploaded accordingly. Certificates not mentioned in the application form shall not be accepted in any form after the last date.

 

12.  Relaxation in Age limit for SC/ST/OBC/Ex-Serviceman shall be as per DoPT OM No. 15012/2/2010- Estt(D) dated 27.03.2012.

 

13.  Proof of age and caste certificate may be issued in accordance with the DoPT OMs as mentioned below :-

 

a)      Proof of Age - OM No. 19017/7/79-Estt(A) dated 30.11.1979.

b)      Caste certificate –

SC/ST                   –     OM No. 36012/6/88-Estt(SCT) dated 24.04.1990, OBC        –                              OM No. 36036/2/2013-Estt.(Res-I) dated 31.03.2016 EWS         –                              OM No. 36039/1/2019-Estt. (Res) dated 31.01.2019

14.  If applied for another post and found eligible for both posts, only higher post will be offered and the applicant will have no claim over the lower post.

15.  Decision of SAI in all matters regarding eligibility, selection and posting would be final and binding on all candidates. No representation or correspondence will be entertained by SAI in this regard.

16.  SAI reserves the right to modify/alter/restrict/enlarge/cancel the recruitment process, if need so arises without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason thereafter. The decision of the SAI shall be final and no appeal will be entertained.

17.  The other terms & conditions necessary for appointment in SAI will be mentioned in the detailed agreement that shall be signed by the selected candidate at the time of appointment.

 

18.  Termination:- The contract can be terminated by giving a 30 days notice period by either party

i.e. SAI and the employee. In extreme cases the contract can be terminated by SAI with immediate effect without notice period.

 

19.  Applications received after due date are liable to be summarily rejected. Sports Authority of India will not be responsible for any delay in the submission of online application form due to any reason.
